Chief Executive Officer

Chief Executive Officer Teresa Jacobsson is the founder of JW Industries Group (JWIG). With over 30 years of experience in business development, risk and change management, operations, strategic planning, local, state, and federal services contracting, and construction and industrial services, she brings a substantial and diverse level of experience to the company. Prior to establishing JWIG, she held the positions of CEO, business manager, vice-president, division director, and contract administrator for a number of Alaska Native regional entities and village corporations. Leading a Small Business Administration 8(a) company, Teresa has more than 15 years of experience working with the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program; her experience includes completing the program application process for the company and clients, fulfilling reporting requirements, and participating in the SBA 8(a) Mentor-Protégé Program.


Teresa has demonstrated a passion in serving the community throughout her career and mentors women survivors of trauma. Her service credentials include serving as director with the Eva Foundation and as the founder and chair of the Alaska Tribal Administrators Association, the Alaska Women’s Leadership Forum, and the Jacobsson Foundation. 

Chief Financial Officer

Doug Koprowski's extensive career has been dedicated to organizational and financial best practices. He has over 35 years of substantial accounting and financial management experience and has traveled throughout Alaska to help ANCs, subsidiaries, regional non-profits and tribes adopt best practices and prepare for financial and performance audits. His experience includes financial reporting for multiple multi-state SBA 8(a), joint venture and limited liability companies, audit preparation, corrective action plans and new financial model implementation utilizing a shared services model. Doug has served as CFO with ANCs in the Doyon and Aleut regions and served as controller and CFO for multiple Native owned entities. He has taught as an adjunct instructor for the University of Alaska and the Institute of Banking teaching courses in Cost Accounting, Business Law, Financial Statement Analysis and Principles of Banking. 

Doug is licensed and certified through the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club as a Youth Basketball Coach, certified through Dimond West Little League as an Umpire, and has volunteered with the AK Rush Competitive Soccer Club. Doug proudly volunteers his time to support the extracurricular activities of his grandchildren, who are from the Upper Kuskokwim Region.


Chief Administrative Officer/VP Strategic Development

Debi Schmit brings over 35 years of experience in organizational leadership, management and administration, construction, and non-profit and resource development to JW Industries. She has spent decades serving in community development and liaison roles for large-scale projects in rural Alaska and developed and led a team of dedicated management professionals while serving as director for a regional Alaska Native health corporation. Debi provides our clients and partners with a deep understanding of requirements of transparency, accountability and effective communication in business. She provides substantive vision and direction, strategic organization, process development, C-suite development and placement, joint venture partnership and Human Resources administration to clients in Alaska and the Lower 48. Debi is also experienced in SBA 8(a) business pipeline development, management and forecasting. 


Debi has served on multiple boards throughout Alaska including the Alaska Tribal Administrators Association, Alaska Municipal League Legislative Council and the Lake and Peninsula Borough. She currently serves as Director for the Aleut Corporation and the Board Policy and Fisheries Committees and is originally from King Cove, Alaska.
