Chief Executive Officer
Chief Executive Officer Teresa Jacobsson is the founder of JW Industries Group (JWIG). With over 25 years of experience in board and council facilitation, business development, risk and change management, operations, strategic planning, professional and industrial services contracting, she brings a substantial and diverse level of experience to the company. Prior to establishing JWIG, she held leadership positions for multiple Alaska Native regional entities and village corporations. Ms. Jacobsson provides more than 15 years of experience working with the SBA 8(a) Program including participating in the 8(a) Mentor-Protégé Program.
Ms. Jacobsson has demonstrated a passion in serving the community throughout her career and mentors women survivors of trauma. Her credentials include serving as director with the Alaska Humanities Forum, Beans Cafe, the Alaska Chapter for the National Contract Management Association, and the Eva Foundation. Ms. Jacobsson is also founder and chair of the Alaska Tribal Administrators Association (she received an Emmy nomination for her production of the I am a Tribal Administrator: Diomede documentary short), the Alaska Women’s Leadership Forum, and the Jacobsson Foundation.
Chief Financial Officer
Karen Hartke is a versatile business professional with a focus on effective communication, organizational, financial and audit standards, and efficient and effective delivery of services - client goals are paramount. Ms. Hartke provides expert technical support for all facets of financial management, including knowledge and implementation of best practices, GAAP and single-audit, audit review, and Sarbanes-Oxley auditing standards, program and project reconciliation, analysis and reporting, and management support for investment and settlement trusts.
Ms. Hartke supported a multi-year USAF DOD contract with ARAMARK which included financial reporting on the operations and direct support to the NAF contracting officer. Ms. Hartke has also provided joint venture contract support for federal operations and accounting with Alaska Native regional corporations.
Business Manager
Alexis Powers provides a history of extensive professional support services for the Department of Labor, GSA, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Food and Drug Administration, and the State of Alaska DOT. Her expertise encompasses project accounting, joint venture contract management, and oversight of project plans, schedules, and budgets. She has conducted health equity training and communication initiatives, and managed onboarding processes for a prominent health organization, which involved the development and management of partnerships with local affiliates and external industries.
Additionally, Ms. Powers specializes in management and executive level placement and onboarding for Alaska Native corporations, Alaska Native entities, and non-profit organizations. She is entrusted with all aspects of contract administration, engagements, and compliance for the company, utilizing the DelTek system.
